Anna (née Beck) Baumgartner Simon, 91, of Haledon passed away peacefully on February 16, 2021, after a short illness.
Born and raised in Bakonyjákó, Hungary, Anna’s family was resettled in East and then West Germany in 1947. She came to the United States in 1952 and settled in Paterson. She then moved to Haledon to raise a family. She worked as a seamstress in the Paterson garment industry for many years as a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was a parishioner of St. Paul’s R.C. Church in Prospect Park. She was a member of the North Haledon Golden Age Club and St. Paul’s Senior Citizens. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
Anna was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Baumgartner in 1977.
She is survived by her son, John Baumgartner and his wife, Toni; her daughter, Janice Demeski and her husband, Stanley; her granddaughter Katherine Sullivan and her husband, Sean; and her grandsons Michael Baumgartner and John Demeski.
A Mass and celebration of Anna’s life will be held later in 2021.
