Comfort Janet (Eduful) Edwin

Comfort Janet Edwin, 82, of Passaic, passed away May 19, 2021. Born in Agona Bobikuma, Ghana, Mrs. Edwin came to United States in 1966 to join her husband, John F. Edwin (who passed away in Hartford, CT on May 16, 2021) being sponsored through the United Methodist Church. She, her husband and four children settled in Massachusetts, living in Belchertown and Taunton, while he worked as a Minister for the United Methodist Church. In 1973, the family returned to Ghana before coming back to the U.S. in 1979. She worked for Hilton Hotels in Maryland and then resided in Providence, Rhode Island where she was employed as a sous chef at the Marriott Hotel before her retirement in 2007. In 2009, she moved to New Jersey to live with her daughter and grandchildren in Jersey City. She recently attended the Christian Healthcare Adult Day Services in Wayne.

          Mrs. Edwin is survived by her four children, Mercy Edwin of Maine, Acheampongmaa Edwin and her husband, David Clark of Passaic, NJ, Emmanuel Edwin of London, England and Augusta Edwin of Bronx, NY; two grandchildren, Seidron Snipe and Dyron Snipe, II; and one great-grandchild, Asomdwee Dickson.

          Visitation will be held Monday, June 7, 2021 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 at the funeral home followed by the burial at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Clifton. Please click HERE for a livestream of the visitation and service.
