Cosmo F. Gigante

Cosmo F. Gigante, 90, of Morris Plains, passed away June 3, 2023. Born in Molfetta, Italy, Mr. Gigante came to the United States in 1934 settling in Hoboken, New Jersey where he was raised. Mr. Gigante resided in Clifton for most of his adult life before moving to Whiting, NJ. He was a printer by trade, starting his training while a young teenager, and worked for over 40 years as an offset pressman at both Ranno and Sons as well as Union Camp.

Mr. Gigante was a big fan of the New York Giants and the New York Yankees, but loved long running jokes so much, he brought his kids up as Mets fans before openly rooting for the Yankees again in the late 90’s. He was an avid reader enjoying almost anything, but especially history and spy novels. Mr. Gigante volunteered for many years as a baseball coach for Clifton Northern Division’s little league and went on to serve as their President.

He was predeceased by his wife, Maura (nee Murphy) Gigante in 1997; two daughters, Roseann Snyder and Leeandra Gigante; and two sisters, Agatha “Nina” Centrone and Vincenza Introna.

Survivors include: his wife Angie Botto; his son, Robert Gigante and his wife, Penny; his daughter, Diane Gigante and her partner, Richard Falcon; his son-in-law, Michael Snyder; four grandchildren, Kelsey Lewis-Towndrow and her husband Mike, Bailey Snyder and his wife Nicole, Paige Snyder, and Sophia Gigante. He is also survived by his brother Sergio Gigante, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by the interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
