David Young Obituary

David W. Young, 88, of Clifton, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

         Born in Suffern, New York, Mr. Young lived in Elmwood Park for many years before moving to Clifton in 1961 where he resided since.

          He retired in 1985 from Hoffmann-LaRoche Co. in Nutley where he was employed as a Chemical Operator.

          David served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957 as an Electrician for B29 Bombers and was honorably discharged a proud Airman First Class.

          He met the love of his life at Paramus skating rink and they were married on April 19, 1958.

          David was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Ruth (nee Gries) Young; one brother, Robert Young and one sister, Lorraine Barbieri.

          He is survived by His loving wife of 63 years Rose Mary (nee Schaefer) Young; his children, Cynthia Figlar and her husband, Gregory; Sons Gregory Young, Jeffrey Young and Steven Young; one brother, William Young and his wife, Reggie; one sister, Dorothy Halker; four grandchildren, Tara Flach, Marissa Figlar, Andrew Young and Joshua Young; three great-grandchildren, Elsa, Landon and Audrina Flach.  He is also survived by His brother-in-law Carl Schaefer and many nieces and nephews.

          Cremation was private. Memorial Mass 11:30 am Saturday, April 2, 2022 at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton, NJ 07013.
