Gloria Mary (Modugno) Sigler

Mrs Gloria Sigler, beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, cousin, and friend, age 97, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on November 22, 2022 after a short illness.

Gloria was born on November 14, 1925 to Vincenzo and Nancy Modugno in Paterson, New Jersey. After Gloria graduated from Eastside High School, she entered the workforce in the field of Finance and Accounting, which remained a passion for her entire life.

Gloria met Joseph Sigler, also of Paterson, and they were wed on May 1,2 1949. Gloria and Joe went on to have one child, a daughter also named Gloria.

Gloria’s increasing responsibilities in Finance resulted in numerous leadership roles in major corporations (most noteworthy being Volkswagen of America) during a time when few women were employed at that level. Gloria remained engaged in the Finance field well into her 80’s.

Prior to moving to Denver, Gloria was a long-term resident of North Haledon, New Jersey, and a regular attendee at St Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Prospect Park, New Jersey. Besides family and church activities, Gloria was an avid world traveler and a voracious reader, especially of American history.

In 2010, Gloria retired to provide care for family members, and also allot time to developing friendships at the Kavod Senior Life residence which was a source of joy and companionships during her later years.

Gloria was predeceased by husband Joe and daughter Gloria: she was the last remaining family member of her generation. Gloria is survived by niece Barbara Delaney, nephews Chris Delaney and Robert Delaney, along with their spouses and children.

A private services will be held at Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
