Jean E. (nee McCoy) Duca, 90, of Clifton, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021. Born in Paterson, Mrs. Duca resided in Clifton nearly all of her life. Jean was the third of six children of John and Eva McCoy. She attended School #5 and Clifton High School, graduating in 1949. She worked for an insurance company on Main Avenue in Clifton until her marriage to Lawrence P. Duca in June of 1953.

            After marriage, she and her husband relocated to the Washington, DC area while her husband attended Georgetown University Dental School. During that time, Mrs. Duca worked for Capital Airline in the DC area. They returned to Clifton where they raised their children. They maintained a second home in Montauk, NY and travelled extensively.

            Jean was a great bookkeeper, an excellent cook, talented seamstress and an avid gardener. Over the years, she served as Treasurer to St. Paul Parish and Assistant to the Principal of Paul VI High School. Jean worked with the Dominican Sisters to set up administrative systems and operations for the then new High School in 1970-71. She can best be remembered as a loving wife and devoted mother all of her adult life.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Lawrence P. Duca, Sr. DDS in 2017; two sisters, Dorothy McCoy and Mildred McCoy; and two brothers, James McCoy and John McCoy.

Survivors include: five children, Kathleen Duca, Joanne Duca Reilly, Christine Zagari, Lawrence P. Duca, Jr. DMD and Diane Duca; eight grandchildren, Andrew Fiorenza, Neil Reilly, Timothy Reilly, Christopher Fiorenza, Kyle Duca, Derek Dacuk, Erin Duca and Colin Dacuk; four great-grandchildren, Leonard Fiorenza, Henry Reilly, Connor Reilly and Serena Reilly; and her brother, Rudy McCoy.

Memorial visitation will be held Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton followed by a 4:00 pm funeral ceremony.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association,  https://www.alz.org/
