Jill Marie Homcy, of Lincoln Park NJ, age 54, died peacefully September 30. A beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, she was born in Passaic NJ. Jill is survived by her parents George and Elaine of West Paterson, sister Jane of West Paterson, brothers Alan of Cleveland OH and Paul and wife April of Boonton NJ, as well as her beloved nieces and nephews Alison, Caitlin, Ryan, Tyler, Sean, Matthew, and Samantha.
Jill was a graduate of Montclair State University. She was a production manager for 13 years with Strategic Content Imagining, a digital printing company in Secaucus, NJ. Jill’s passion for nature photography brought her and others great joy. She was the founder of the NJ Nature and Wildlife Facebook group, which counted over 10,000 members. She was recognized for her work to save the eagle’s nest in Ridgefield Park, and her photos helped bring attention to the methane burners in the Meadowlands. Jill also volunteered for the Stateline Hawk Watch, and helped monitor peregrine falcons and bald eagles through the region. Her smile and laughter were a gift to all who knew her.
Her wake will be held Monday, October 5 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houton Avenue, Clifton NJ 07013. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 6 beginning at the funeral home at 9:15 followed by a 10:00 am Mass at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Clifton, NJ. A repast for family members to be held at Upper Montclair Country Club following her Mass.
Face masks must be worn and social distancing will apply. Due to current restrictions on allowable numbers (50) inside the funeral home, it is requested that those attending the visitation be courteous by limiting their time inside in order to allow others the opportunity to pay their respects as well.
