Joseph Albert Lotorto, 68, of Clifton, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023. Born in Passaic, Joseph was a lifelong resident of Clifton. He was a 1973 graduate of Clifton High School and then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Joseph was employed in the Building Department for the City of Clifton, retiring as the Construction Official after 35 years of service. After his retirement, he worked part-time for the Borough of Florham Park as a Building Inspector
Joseph was a faithful parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton and served on the Board for the Clifton Adult Opportunity Center. A true family man, he loved spending time with those closest to him — especially at the beach.
He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Grace (nee Marino) Lotorto in 2000; and his brother-in-law, Allen Soroka in 2002.
He was most cherished by his beloved wife of 42 years, Lisa (nee DiDonato) Lotorto; three devoted children, Patrick Lotorto and his wife, Megan of Fairfield, Caitlin Morris and her husband Joshua of Wayne, and Victoria Lotorto of Clifton; two loving grandsons, Dominick and James Lotorto; his brother, Domenick Lotorto and his wife, JoAnne; and his sister, Mary Soroka.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 9, 2023 from 4-8pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:15 am from the funeral home followed by a 10am Mass at St. Andrew the Apostle R.C. Church, 400 Mt. Prospect Avenue, Clifton. Private cremation to follow.
