Joseph Daniel Scartelli

Joseph Daniel Scartelli, 78, of Clifton, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022. Born in Scranton, Pa., Joseph was raised in Dunmore, Pa. He has been a Clifton resident since 1972. Before his retirement, he was employed with Benjamin Moore Paints in Newark for 44 years retiring as a supervisor.

            Mr. Scartelli was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton and a member of the Order of the Moose, Clifton Lodge #657 since 2000.  Joseph was a very good athlete and played and coached in an adult baseball league at River Bank Park well into his fifties.  He also enjoyed playing rounds of golf with his friends.

            Joseph was predeceased by his brother, Robert Scartelli in 2021; and his parents, Robert and Stella (nee Olskeski) Scartelli.

            Survivors include: his beloved wife, Theresa (nee Basile) Scartelli; his son, Joseph Daniel Scartelli, Jr.; his daughter, Kathryn Renee Scartelli; his son-in-law, Ricky Rivera; two grandchildren, Alexander Joseph Rivera and Arianna Rose Rivera; his sister, Pamela Gordon; and many close cousins.

            Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Friday 10:15 am from the funeral home followed by an 11:00 am Mass at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Clifton Animal Shelter, P.O.
