Mary Jo O'Donnell

Mary Jo O’Donnell, 83, of Clifton, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020. Born in Paterson, Mary Jo resided in Clifton her entire life. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Paterson for 47 years, mainly in the Recovery Room.

            Mary Jo graduated high school from St. John’s Cathedral High School in Paterson in 1954. She then went on the graduate from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1957 and she also earned her Bachelors Degree in Chemistry from Rutgers University College in Newark in 1967.

            She was a member of the following organizations: St. Joseph’s Nurses Alumnae Association; Rutgers University Alumni Association; ASPCA; the Alley Cat Allies; the Humane Society of the US; and Best Friends Animal Society.

            Mary Jo was predeceased by her parents, Charles V. O’Donnell in 1978 and Claudine (nee Hinchliffe) O’Donnell in 1975.

She is survived by several cousins; and Philip and Peter Cooper and Maggie Kaeser.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Our Lady of Fatima Chapel, 32 West Franklin Avenue, Pequannock, NJ. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Shelter, P.O. Box 4923, Clifton, NJ 07015-4923.
