Michael George Gimon, aged 79, of Clifton passed away suddenly on Tuesday July 27, 2021.
Born in Passaic, Mr. Gimon was a lifelong resident of Clifton. Prior to his retirement in 2000, he had been employed as a Chemical Operator with Hoffmann-La Roche, formerly located in Nutley, for forty years. Mr. Gimon was a faithful parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel in Passaic and was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served during the Cold War-era. He was a member of the St. Michael’s Holy Name Society, and Fr. Juan Perez Council 262 of the Knights of Columbus, and was Commander of American Legion Post No. 347 in Clifton, Past-Commander of the Passaic County American Legion, Chaplain of Catholic War Veterans of the United States of America 1710 Post in Paramus, a member of the Clifton-Garfield Elks Lodge 3159 and served as Chaplain for the Clifton Veterans Avenue of Flags.
Mr. Gimon was predeceased by his parents, Michael George Gimon, Sr. and Helen (nee Sastic) Gimon.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Adele (nee Trizzo) Gimon, of Clifton; his two devoted children: Michael George Gimon III and his wife, Shannon, of Pasadena, MD and Tricia Anne (Gimon) Zygnerski and her husband, Nicholas, of Montclair; two dear siblings: Robert Gimon and his wife, Linda, of Clifton and Patricia (Gimon) Burke and her husband, Billy, of Hasbrouck Heights; seven cherished grandchildren: Jasmin Gimon, Michael George Gimon IV, Jared Scott, Victoria Scott, Llusi Oliverio and her husband, Shean and their children Gianna and Alina (Michael’s great-grandchildren), Ashlea Meers and Abby Meers; his loved nieces and dear nephews.
Visiting will be Friday from 4-8pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Parastas 4:30pm. Byzantine Liturgy is Saturday 9:30am at St. Michael’s Chapel, 415 Lackawanna Avenue, Woodland Park. Please meet at church. Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, South Hackensack. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the New Jersey Veterans Home at Paramus, 1 Veterans Drive, Paramus, NJ 07652 would be preferred and appreciated.
