Joseph Toto, 94, of Clifton, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020. Born in Jersey City, Mr. Toto resided in Clifton for most of his life. He worked many years with Frank Saltz & Sons in Passaic as a clothing cutter/presser and boiler operator. After his employment with Frank Saltz & Sons, he pursued his dream of opening his own gas station and auto repair shop. He was the owner operator of Toto’s Service Center on Lexington Ave in Passaic until his retirement in 2014. Mr. Toto was a parishioner of St. Paul R.C. Church in Clifton.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Phyllis (nee Aquilina) Toto in 1993; his parents, Francesco (Frank) Toto and Theresa (nee Terribile) Toto; and his siblings, Salvatore Toto, Mary Dragotto, Grace Fusco, Lucy Tortorici and Anna Toto.
Survivors include: six children, Theresa Toto of Clifton, Rose Ann (Toto) Bordino of Clifton, Linda Grace Drag (Martin) of Pompton Plains, Frank Joseph Toto (Eleanor) of Clifton, Lorraine Ann Bonelli (James) of Pequannock and Jo Ann Seely (Kenneth) of Pompton Plains; nine grandchildren, Donna Pangaro, Anne Marie Lopez, Stephanie Drag, Nicole (Drag) Boyce, Marty Drag, Danielle Bonelli, Julia Bonelli, Jaclynn Seely and Ryan Seely; and one great-grandchild, Lorissa Rose Pangaro.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral services will be held Thursday 9:15 am from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass at St. Paul R.C. Church, 124 Union Ave., Clifton. Interment to follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
