Nelson A. Torres, 72, of Clifton, formerly of Bronx, New York, passed away on February 8, 2021.
Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Mr. Torres was raised in Bronx, New York and resided there for most of his life. More recently, he had been living in Clifton. Prior to retiring, he had been employed as a Design Apprentice with Alpha Design Co. in New York City. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War.
Mr. Torres was predeceased by his dearly missed parents, Francisco and Maria M. (nee Martinez) Torres and a dear brother, Hector Torres.
He is survived by his two loved children: Elliott Torres and Veronica Torres, both of Florida; by seven dear siblings: Francisco Torres, Jr., Maria Cole, Carmen Lopez, Ada Feliciano, Angel Torres, Nellie Torres and Elisa Alvarez; and three cherished grandchildren.
Visiting will be Friday February 12th from 11:00am-1:00pm with a United States Army Honor Guard service to be held immediately following at 1:00pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Private cremation to follow. Face masks must be worn inside the funeral home and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to. Due to current restrictions on allowable numbers inside the funeral home at one time (50), it is requested that those attending the visitation be courteous by limiting their time inside in order to allow others the opportunity to pay their respects as well.
