Alyson Anne Sudol

Alyson Anne Sudol of Clifton, died at age 53, on March 24th, 2025. Alyson was a 1989 Clifton High School graduate. She attended the University of Rhode Island, and in 1993 she earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Marine Law. As part of her college curriculum she studied abroad in Australia and Puerto Rico. Her academic education provided her with great knowledge and respect for the ocean and its environment. Her happiest moments in life were spent by the ocean either in Wildwood, New Jersey and traveling to many islands.

 After college Alyson moved to the Pacific Ocean in San Diego, California where she worked and followed her passion for marine life and its conservation. She returned east to the Atlantic Ocean and became a Special Education teacher in Wildwood, New Jersey where she would take her students to the beach and share her knowledge of ocean life and conservation. 

Within time, Alyson became the caretaker for her parents’ ill health. Alyson is predeceased by her sister Karen Sudol in June 2022. She is also predeceased by her father Walter E. (Wally) Sudol in July 2022. Her mother June (nee Jancio) Sudol passed away in September of 2022. When Alyson suddenly passed, she was reunited with her family and beloved pets.

 Alyson is survived by her uncle the Rev. Gerard J. Sudol of Hawley, Pennsylvania. Survivors also include personal kind friends. Special gratitude is extended to Alyson’s dear warm-caring friend Paul, Godmother Ginny, Danielle, and good neighbors Bob, Elizabeth & Steve.

All are welcome to celebrate Alyson in a Memorial Mass at 10:30am on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Services will take place at Sacred Heart R. C. Church, corner of Clifton and Randolph Avenues, Clifton, NJ 07011.

Interment to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, 2 Terrace Avenue, Lodi, NJ 07644. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oceana - Protecting the World’s Oceans www.oceana.org  or contributions may be made to your local church for a mass offering.
