Ana L. (Salcedo) Cedeño

October 22, 1950 ~ August 15, 2023 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Obituary

Ana L. Cedeño, 72, of Clifton passed away peacefully at home, in the loving care of her daughter, on Tuesday August 15th, 2023 after a long illness.

Born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, Mrs. Cedeño came to the United States in 1972 and settled in Queens, NY. In 1976, she returned to her home country of Ecuador for two years before returning to the U.S. in 1978, this time settling in Lodi and living there until 2002, when she moved to Clifton where she has resided since. Mrs. Cedeño had been employed as a school bus driver with Laidlaw/First Student in Paramus and then as a driver with Access Link until retiring in 2016, but even then, she decided to continue working, this time as a bus driver with Scholastic. Mrs. Cedeño loved her job and enjoyed interacting with the passengers on her bus, including the students she transported to and from school every day. She would often come home and share funny or touching stories with her daughter about the children on her route.

Never idle, Mrs. Cedeño gave new meaning to the Do-It-Yourself lifestyle. Ever handy around her home, she loved her trips to Home Depot to get supplies to do her own home improvements. There was never a job too big or too small for Mrs. Cedeño. Her family and friends loved to marvel at her finished projects.

She was a parishioner of St. Clare RC Church in Clifton and was a member and Past Vice-President of the TWU (Transport Workers Union).

Mrs. Cedeño was predeceased by her beloved and dearly missed son, Franklin Cedeño, who left this world way to soon on October 19th, 2019, and by a dear sister, Maria del Carmen Salcedo.

She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Connie Cedeño, of Clifton; her cherished grandson, Christian Zachary Cedeño, also of Clifton; and five dear siblings: Ligia Sanchez Salcedo, Victor Hugo Salcedo, Galo Salcedo, Mario Salcedo and Irene Salcedo, all of Ecuador.

Visiting will be Wednesday from 4-8pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Thursday 9:15am from the funeral home and 10:00am at St. Clare RC Church, 31 Allwood Road, Clifton. Interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Montclair.
