Anna (nee Giannopoulos) Bakis, 94, of Clifton passed away peacefully in the care of her devoted son on Wednesday April 24, 2024.
Born in Leontari, Greece, Mrs. Bakis came to the United States in the 1950’s, settling in Brooklyn, NY where she lived until 1978 when she then moved to Clifton. Prior to retirement, she had been employed as a seamstress with Dexter Knitting in Wallington. Previous employment was with Robert Hall in Brooklyn. She attended masses at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Clifton, loved flower gardening and was all around loved and cherished by all who knew her.
Mrs. Bakis was predeceased by her loved and missed husband, Nicholas G. Bakis; her cherished daughter, Katherine Bakis-Sonye; her deeply missed mother, Metaxia Giannopoulos as well as her dear father; and by her two loved siblings: Ioannis and Vasiliki Giannopoulos.
She is survived by her loving and devoted son, George E. Bakis, of Clifton.
Visiting will be Monday April 29th from 10:30am-12:30pm with a Funeral Service to then follow at 12:30pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Interment East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
