Arlene E. (nee Granfors) Rideg, 85, of Clifton passed away on August 4, 2020.
Born and raised in Bronx, New York, Mrs. Rideg lived in Elmwood Park before moving to Ohio and then returned to New Jersey and settled in Clifton. She had been employed a number of years ago as a Child Care worker with the Division of Youth and Family Services. She was a former member of St. James Episcopal Church in Montclair. Having attended an art high school, she was an artist and also loved to play the piano in addition to being an avid reader. She enjoyed watching religious television shows and music channels but her favorite by far was Animal Planet, being that she loved animals and had many pets throughout her lifetime.
Mrs. Rideg was predeceased by two loving husbands: Charles Seidel and Frank Rideg; by her dear sister, Alice Rocchio; and by her loved and missed daughter, June E. Seidel.
She is survived by four cherished children: Beverly Soriano and her husband, Michael, of Clifton, Norman T. Seidel and his wife, Bobbi, of Tennessee, Kevin Seidel and his partner, Ursula, of Clifton and Keith Seidel and his partner, Chuck, of Florida; and by seven cherished grandchildren: Lloyd, Maxx, Joseph, Daniel, Ethan, Paige and Sarah.
Visiting will be Saturday August 15th from 10:30am-12:30pm with a funeral service to commence immediately following at 12:30pm. Due to current restrictions on allowable numbers (50) inside the funeral home, it is requested that those attending the visitation be courteous by limiting their time inside in order to allow others the opportunity to pay their respects as well. Social distancing and masks are required. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Clifton Friends of the Shelter (www.cliftonanimalshelter.com), 900 Clifton Avenue, Clifton, NJ 07013 would be appreciated
