Carlos D. Hernandez

Carlos D. Hernandez, 78, of Paterson, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022.  Born in Lares, Puerto Rico, Mr. Hernandez came to mainland United States over 60 years ago and resided in Paterson for many years. He was a miracle baby as he was born at 1.5 lbs. Before his retirement, he was employed with John Dusenbery Co. in Dover and CMC Steel in Paterson as a welder.

After retirement, he was employed at Home Depot in Clifton in the Plumbing and Special Services Departments for 12 years.

            He was predeceased by brothers: Hector Hernandez, Guillermo Hernandez, Orlando Hernandez, and his twin brother Pedro Alejandro Hernandez; and brother-in-law, Israel Rios.

            Survivors include: his wife, Antonia (nee Rivera) Hernandez; his daughter, Marybel Hernandez and her partner, Blanca Velasquez of Bloomfield; his son, Carlos Hernandez and his wife, Jayne of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; five grandchildren, Von Marie Rodriguez and her husband, Richard Alfonso Rodriguez, Justyn Cruz, Bianca Hernandez, Brandon Kelly, and Matthew Kelly; two great-grandchildren, Alina Marie Rodriguez and Richard Alfonso Rodriguez, III; two sisters, Sonia Rios and Zoraida Gonzalez and her husband, Geraldino; and his sisters-in-law, Claudina Hernandez and Emma Hernandez.  

            Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. A prayer service will be held Friday, Jan. 7, 2022 at 10:30 am at the funeral home, followed by the interment at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa. Facemasks are required.
