Carmen Szabo, formerly Carmen Vizuete, of Long Branch NJ, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2024, in Long Branch, NJ, at the age of 63. Carmen, known for her dedication and compassion, was a beloved wife, mother, and daughter.
Carmen was born in Quito Ecuador. Graduated from Pope Pius High school in 1978. She proudly served in the Navy for 2 years, demonstrating her commitment to duty and honor. Following her military service, Carmen pursued a career in nursing, achieving an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Passaic Community College. For 22 years she worked as a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery at Chilton Medical Center, where she touched the lives of many with her caring nature.
Carmen will be deeply missed by her husband of 39 years, Thomas Szabo; her daughter Roxanne Russo and husband Tyler; her daughter Tayler Szabo; her sister Anna Guerra; her mother Blanch Guerra. She is preceded in death by her father, Luis Vizuete.
Carmen's dedication to her family, her country, and her profession leaves a lasting legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her.
