Carol Ann (De Filippo) De Lisi

Carol Ann De Lisi, born in Jersey City, NJ on November 3, 1940, passed away peacefully at home on July 21, 2026, at the age of 85, after a short battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Louis De Filippo and Isabelle Serpico. 

Carol Ann graduated from Jersey City State College in 1962 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She taught second grade in Kearny, NJ for six years. She loved putting on plays and teaching cursive writing. She returned to college in 1984 and received a degree in Teacher of Students with Disabilities. Carol Ann became a Special Education teacher in Jersey City for the next 21 years. She worked an after school program, did home instruction, and tutored students with dyslexia. She retired in the year 2007.

Carol Ann moved to the Four Seasons in Woodland Park, NJ in 2009. She was a member of the Italian American Club and was on the Nominating Committee and took part in social events. Carol Ann co-hosted pizza bingo and coffee club. She belonged to the Social Committee and enjoyed playing mahjong, Rummikub, bocce, and poker. She knitted lap blankets for Loops for Love. She went to many Broadway plays in New York City and loved eating at Carmine’s and Becco. Carol Ann’s favorite vacations were to Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast in Italy. 

Carol Ann loved celebrating the holidays with family always bringing homemade Bailey’s and limoncello, attending church every week, spending the entire day at the beach, dining at great restaurants, going to the casino, playing games at the clubhouse with her friends, and reading. But most of all, she loved spending time with her extended family, and her beloved granddaughters, Amanda and Allyson. 

Carol Ann is survived by her loving son Joseph De Lisi Jr., daughter Suzanne Martini and husband John, daughter Danielle De Lisi, and by her adored granddaughters Amanda and Allyson. She is also survived by her brothers, Gary and Kenneth, sisters-in-law, many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Isabelle and her brother Louis De Filippo.

Visitation will be held on Sunday July 26th from 1-4pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Monday 9:15am from the funeral home and 10:00am at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Private cremation to follow.
