Carol Anne (Babits) Diaz

Carol Anne (nee Babits) Diaz, 62, of Clifton passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023. 

Carol attended St. Paul School, Clifton NJ, and graduated from Clifton High School in 1978.

Carol was employed as a legal secretary by Lester Dunham of Clifton and for the past 40 plus years by BASF Corporation as a legal secretary working in Clifton, Mount Olive and most recently Florham Park. Carol was a notary public.

Carol was a lifelong member of St. Paul Church in Clifton where she taught CCD classes for several years.

Carol was a big Fleetwood Mac and Eagles fan and loved attending concerts and plays.  She spent many hours crocheting and creating beautiful needlework projects.  Carol enjoyed playing games, especially Dominos and Scrabble. She also enjoyed watching TV shows such as Oak Island, TV Land and the Jersey Shore.

Carol enjoyed spending many vacations at the Jersey Shore. 

She had a love of animals, especially her 3 rescue Labrador retrievers, Dutchess, Sam and Blossom.

Carol was always selfless and generous. In her last selfless act, Carol was an organ donor, to give the gift of life to others.

Carol was predeceased by her parents, Peter Babits and Mary (Nee Nilan) Babits and her sister Joan Perrone of Totowa, NJ.

Carol is survived by her son, Ruben (Tre’) Diaz III of Clifton, her sisters Virginia Beucler of Columbus, GA and Rosemary Guerin of Billerica, MA, and her brother Peter Babits of Clifton, NJ.

Carol is also survived by her nieces, Jamie Lane and Jeannine Scott and her nephews, John Beucler, Frank Perrone and Geoffrey Guerin, several great nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton, NJ.  Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 9:15 am from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Paul Church, 124 Union Avenue, Clifton, NJ.  Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ.
