Catalina T. (nee Torres) Carvajal, 89, of Independence Township passed away peacefully on Thursday August 24th, 2023.
Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, Mrs. Carvajal came to the United States in 1986, settling initially in Passaic before then moving to Clifton and has resided in Independence Township for the last fourteen years. Prior to retiring, she had been employed as a Dietary Aide at Passaic General Hospital for sixteen years. She attended masses regularly at Ss. Peter & Paul RC Church in Great Meadows.
Mrs. Carvajal was predeceased by her beloved and deeply missed husband, Rodolfo Borromeo Carvajal, Jr., on June 24, 2013; by her loved parents: Magno and Anastacia (nee Samson) Torres; and by her three dear brothers: Dominador, Victorino and Renato Torres.
She is survived by her three loving and devoted children: Cecilia Cruz and her husband, Ricardo, of Independence, Luis T. Carvajal and his wife, Leilani, of Denville and Ariel T. Carvajal and his wife, Aileen, of California; nine cherished grandchildren: Paola, Pamela, Patricia, Pocholo, Rebecca Celeste, Richard, Rodyrick, Joshua and Lorenzo; and three treasured great-grandchildren: Jayden, Juliana and Jenna Rae.
Visiting will be Tuesday 4-8pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Wednesday 10:30am at the funeral home. Committal Service and cremation to follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
