Concepcion (nee Bartolo) Calandra, 76, of Passaic passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday January 22nd, 2025.
Born and raised in Tondo, Manila, Philippines, Mrs. Calandra came to the United States in 1972, settling in Passaic where she has resided since. In the Philippines, she had been employed as a physical education teacher however in the United States, she worked as a bookkeeper for A&P Supermarkets in Montvale before retiring in 2013. She enjoyed dancing, especially the tango, and loved to bake.
Mrs. Calandra was predeceased by her loved and missed husband, James Calandra; by her four dear siblings: Antonio Bartolo, Rosalinda B. Cleto, Carmencita Ceroriales and Maria Teresa Tubiera; a nephew, Adone Anthony Tubiera; and a brother-in-law Melchor Cleto.
She is survived by her seven loving nieces and nephews: Maricar Trevejo and her husband Cesar of Paterson and their children Aaron and Adrianne Trevejo, Shaleen Ceroriales of Passaic and her children Amena and Abdallah Shanaa, Romain Ceroriales and his husband Richard Turchick Jr. of Hackettstown, Anthony Bartolo of Boulder, CO., Joseph Carlo Aquino and his wife Evelyn O. Aquino of Manassas, VA and her daughter Kyra Basas, Carol Ann Bartolo and her husband Jeremy Sinckler of Johns Creek, GA and their children Randall and Drew Sinckler, and Kristina Pipito and her husband Nicholas of New Milford and their children Kayla Dilworth and Analyn Pipito; her late nephew Adone’s wife Rachel Tubiera of the Philippines and their children Aldus, Ayesha, Alynnah and Ahren Tubiera; two dear brothers-in-law: Steve Calandra of New Milford and Antonio Ceroriales of Passaic and her dear sister-in-law Josefina Bartolo of Johns Creek, GA.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 1st at 11:00 am at St. Gerard Majella RC Church, 501 W. Broadway, Paterson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center / 575 Woodland Ave., Madison, NJ 07940 / https://www.sthuberts.org/donate would be appreciated.
