Darlene L. Olenkewich

Darlene L. Olenkewich, 82, of Clifton, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025.  Darlene is a lifelong resident of Clifton, New Jersey.  She was employed by the City of Clifton at the Main Memorial Library for the last 38 years.  She began as a Volunteer, worked her way up to Sr. Library Assistant and retired working in Tech Services on May 31, 2025. 

Darlene was a very talented artist.  She loved drawing, sketching and created many beautiful oil paintings over the years.  She was an avid book reader and animal lover and spent many years enjoying equestrian horseback riding.

Darlene was a faithful parishioner of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Clifton and was a member of the Marian Rosary Society.

She was predeceased by her mother, Olga Olenkewich and father, Anthony Olenkewich.

Survivors include her beloved goddaughters Marlene Schama and Kimberly Halupka DeNude, their families, several cousins and very close friends of whom she also considered her family.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton.  Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 3, 2025 at 9:15 am from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass at St. Paul Church, 124 Union Avenue, Clifton.  Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Main Street, South Hackensack.  Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society www.cancer.org and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 www.stjude.org.  Please visit www.bizub.com for driving directions and online condolences.
