Dolores Ida Turrin

Dolores Ida Turrin, 81, of Clifton, NJ passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 25, 2022.

Dolores was born on February 16, 1941, the youngest of Frank and Ida Turrin of Clifton, NJ. She graduated from Clifton High School in 1960 and went on to attend Katherine Gibbs Secretarial school in Montclair. She went on to pursue a career as an Administrative Secretary for American Cyanamid and was a long time member and co-chair of ‘The National Secretaries Association’.

Proud of her Northern Italian heritage, Ms. Turrin was fluent in ‘Friulian’, a dialect from where her family immigrated. A member of St. Phillips Church (Clifton), Dolores attended weekday mass and loved connecting with other parishioners. She enjoyed tending her garden and knew the botanical name of any flower, bush or tree. An admirer of the arts and fashion, Dolores loved adventuring into Manhattan to shop her favorite department stores and explore The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Known for her bright, bold and cheerful personality, Dolores lived life with an unrivaled spirit and outlook on each day. Her presence was felt by all and her wisdom added to every family gathering.

She cherished her close relationships, especially those with her sisters, brother, nieces and nephews. She found joy in celebrating every occasion, especially birthdays; and was known for her eclectic, one of a kind gifts.

Ms. Turrin is predeceased by her brother, Marino Turrin and sister, Agnes Taschler. She is survived by her sister, Marie Bartley (94) of Lynchburg, Virginia. ‘Auntie Dolores’ also leaves behind her loving Nieces and Nephews: Susan (Spencer) Morasch, Jayne Pierro, Jeff (Dina) Taschler, Thomas (Anne) Turrin, Robert (Linda) Turrin, Richard Turrin, Anne Marie (Bill) Hamilton & Mary Beth Weissert.

Services will be held on Saturday April 2, 2022 at 10:30 am at Bizub Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton, NJ. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
