Dora (nee Cupillari) Marretta, 82, of Clifton passed away peacefully on Monday January 6th, 2025.
Born in Filetto, L’Aquila, Italy, Mrs. Marretta came to the United States in 1963, settling in Elizabeth initially. She married her late husband Baldo on September 3,1966 and together they started their family in Elizabeth before moving to Clifton in 1976 where she has resided since. Upon her arrival to the United States she was employed as a seamstress in the garment industry and then was employed in food service at Daughters of Miriam Center in Clifton for fifteen years before retiring. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Paul RC Church in Clifton where she was a member of both the Leisure Club and the Holy Rosary Society.
Mrs. Marretta was predeceased by her beloved husband of forty years, Baldo Marretta, on April 1st, 2007, by her missed brother-in-law Pietro Battistella and sister-in-law Assunta Cupillari and by two dear siblings Raquela and Gino.
She is survived by her two loving and devoted children: Gaetano (Tommy) Marretta and his wife, Jennifer, of Totowa and Catherine (Tina) Juliano and her husband, Joseph, also of Totowa; five cherished grandchildren: Thomas, Dominick, Jake, Alexandra and Nicolette; four dear siblings: Josephine Battistella, Berto Cupillari and his wife Bruna, Dino Cupillari and his wife Carmelina and Pasquale Cupillari and his wife Irene; her loved brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joseph and Janis Marretta; and by her many loving nieces, nephews and great-nieces.
Visiting will be Wednesday January 8th from 4-8pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Thursday 9:15 am from the funeral home and 10:00am at St. Paul RC Church, cor. Union Avenue and Second Street, Clifton. Interment to follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson.
