Dorothea Anthony passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 17, 2021.
A Clifton resident for 72 years, Dorothea was born in Newark New Jersey on May 23, 1924. She was a graduate of The Newark School of Industrial Arts where she studied interior decorating. Throughout her life she found joy in painting and ceramics, sharing her work with friends and family. A devout parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle Church, she was a member of the Rosary Society and served as its Past President. She was proud to have not missed a single Communion Breakfast. Her professional career spanned many years in office administration, culminating with her retirement from ADP after 27 years of service.
Dorothea was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Fred Anthony; her parents, Concetta and Umberto Modica, as well as her siblings, Adriana Del Guercio, Antonia DeSantis, John Modica, Lucretia Bosset, Francis Modica, and Theresa Modica.
She is survived by her son, Michael Anthony, his wife Patricia; daughter Francesca Anthony; and, daughter Michela Musolino, as well as grandchildren, Lina Chirichiello; Kate Anthony and her partner Ludgy Lilavois; Eric Anthony, his partner Nicole, and her son, Chase. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Gabriella and Nina Anthony.
Visitation will be held at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home on February 23, 2021 from 3 PM – 7 PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, February 24th at St. Philip the Apostle Church. The service will be live streamed for remote viewing. CLICK HERE Wednesday 10:00 am to view the Mass
