Dorothy Lorraine Link (nee Zawacki) passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022. She lived in Clifton for most of her life before moving to Pine Brook with her daughter in 2002. Dorothy held various secretarial and administrative positions at Majka Oil Company, Metropolitan Insurance and ITT before maintaining an administrative position with the Clifton Public Library for many years until her retirement. She had a strong faith and was an avid parishioner of St. Paul RC Church in Clifton (prior to her move to Pine Brook), and she was inducted into the Lady Carmelite Order of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in New York. Dorothy was a compassionate person with a generous heart, and was always trying to help others. She was a member of the Preakness Healthcare Center Auxiliary in Wayne for many years, volunteering within the center as well as being involved in the creation and assembly of baskets for their tricky tray fundraisers. She was known to be artistic and expressed her creativity in various ways, including ceramics, knitting scarves, and creating fabric wreaths, giving away many of the items she crafted. Gifted with a green thumb, she took pride in her collection of plants and flowers. Dorothy enjoyed traveling to various states and countries with her family, visiting quaint towns, old mansions, and museums, as well as perusing flea markets and estate sales. She was also an avid reader.
Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, George Link (1992) and her two infant sons, Keith and Gary.
Cherished and devoted mother of Sharon Link of Pine Brook, and David Link of Wayne. Beloved sister of Leonia Braun of North Carolina, and brother and sister-in-law Kenneth and Gabrielle Zawacki of Florida. Loving grandmother of Jessica Wilson of California. Dear aunt of two nieces, two nephews, and a great-nephew. Dorothy will also be missed by her “grand fur-baby” Amber.
Visiting will be Tuesday from 10:00am-11:00am at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton with services to then begin at 11:00 am followed by 11:30 am mass at St. Paul RC Church, cor. Union Avenue and Second Street, Clifton. Entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Paterson. Memorial contributions to Preakness Healthcare Center, 305 Oldham Road, Wayne 07470 would be appreciated.
