Dusica (Klembas) Gril

Dusica (nee Klembas) Gril, a spirited and loving soul, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on December 21, 1934, in the picturesque city of Ljubljana, Slovenia, Dusica's life was a testament to her selfless nature and her unwavering dedication to her family and community. She was raised in Ljubljana and came to the United States in 1962, lived in Manhattan and Brooklyn before moving to Passaic Park in 1968 and it was there that she and her late husband then bought their family home in 1970, where she has resided since.

Dusica was the cherished daughter of the late Ferdinand and Mara (nee Vrhunc) Klembas. She was the beloved wife of Florijan Kasumovic, her lifelong partner, who predeceased her in 2011. Together, they shared a bond that was the envy of all who knew them. Dusica was a devoted mother to her daughters, Jana Gril of Clifton and Marilyn Gril of Passaic, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Prior to retirement, Dusica served for ten years as an accounting clerk at Ernst & Young, where she was respected for her meticulous work and her ability to bring warmth and kindness into the office every day. Her colleagues remember her as a beacon of positivity, always ready to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement.

In her younger years, Dusica found joy and freedom on the snowy slopes, where she enjoyed snow skiing and where her adventurous spirit and zest for life were evident in the way she embraced this hobby.

Dusica's legacy is one of love, service, and the simple joys of life. She was a woman who found beauty in the everyday and who nurtured the relationships that made life rich and meaningful. Her presence was a gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and she will be deeply missed.

As we bid farewell to Dusica Gril, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with laughter, kindness, and an abundance of love. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will be cherished forever.
