Elizabeth Anne Vetell, known affectionately as Betty to her friends and loved ones, passed away unexpectedly on July 28, 2025, at the age of 76.
Betty was born on August 4, 1948, in Passaic, New Jersey, moments after her twin sister Helen. She grew up in Clifton and worked as a Financial Professional with Morgan Stanley in New York City until her retirement. She was the beloved daughter of the late Carl Verner Vetell and Helen (nee Hosford) Vetell, and a loving sister to the late Helen Hosford Vetell. Betty is survived by her dear cousins in Sweden, many friends, and her beloved church family at First Lutheran Church in Clifton, New Jersey.
Betty's First Lutheran Church community was an extension of her family as her grandfather the late Rev. Carl W. Vetell served as pastor during her childhood years. She was a lifetime member of the church who attended and supported faithfully. Betty lived out her Christian faith in all aspects of her life and touched many people with her kindness, generosity, and love.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday August 13th at First Lutheran Church of Clifton, 1337 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton.
