Elizabeth "Betty" (Snyder) Young

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann (nee Snyder) Young, 62, of Jacksonville, FL, formerly of Clifton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August2, 2021.

            Born in Paterson, Betty was raised in Clifton and graduated from Mary Help of Christians Academy in North Haledon and has lived in Jacksonville, FL for the past thirty-two years. She was a manager with Walmart in Jacksonville and prior employment had been as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She enjoyed many arts and crafts but especially loved glass-blowing and was very generous with her creations, giving many of them to her family and friends. She was a member of VFW Post No. 7165 Ladies Auxiliary, Valley Road, Clifton.

            Betty was predeceased by a dearly missed son, William “Billy” MacNamara; by her parents, William “Bucky” Snyder and Alice M. (nee McCarthy) Snyder; and a brother-in-law, Richard Spages.

            She is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth Young, of Jacksonville, FL; her devoted son, Robert MacNamara, also of Jacksonville, FL; two dear sisters: Margaret Spages and Patricia Schuckman and her husband, Tom, both of Clifton; two nieces: Michelle and Julia; and her nephew Jonathan.

            Cremation was private through Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton.
