Ellen Botschka, died Thursday, January 1, 2026 after battling with the debilitating effects of Alzheimer’s disease over the past few years. Ellen was born in Paterson, NJ and had been a long-time resident of New Jersey before moving full time to her retirement home in Palm Coast, FL in 2017. Ellen received a bachelor’s degree from Ramapo College and was an accomplished cosmetic chemist with several patents to her name. Prior to her retirement in 2009, she was a Senior Research Chemist at International Specialty Products in Wayne, NJ. Most recently Ellen was enjoying time with her husband in Palm Coast, FL focused on utilizing her knowledge as a master gardener, volunteering at Flagler Animal Services and socializing with close friends at her Aqua Zumba classes at the local pool. Ellen is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, Victor Botschka and her loving children: Robert Botschka and his wife, Sharon McCaffrey of Maplewood, NJ and Kevin Botschka of Easton, PA. Carrying on Ellen's legacy are her two grandchildren: Abigail and Griffin, who were the highlight of Ellen's life and brought her so much joy and happiness watching them grow and thrive. Ellen will be dearly missed by her family and friends who all loved her great sense of humor and keen wit.
Visiting for Ellen will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 6-9 PM at the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, bizubquinlan.com, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, NJ 07013. The funeral will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, 10:30 AM at the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. A repast will be held at Luciano's Ristorante, 331 Union Blvd., Totowa, NJ. Memorial donations in Ellen's memory may be made to the Flagler Humane Society, flaglerhumanesociety.org, 1 Shelter Dr, Palm Coast, FL 32137.
