Eugene H. Hill, Jr., 71, passed away suddenly Monday, August 24, 2020. Born and raised in Passaic, he lived there most of his life before moving to Wayne 21 years ago. He was employed with Buldo Brothers Sanitation as a roll-off truck driver. Previously, he was employed for most of his career with William A. Carey Co. of Passaic. Gene was a graduate of New York Institute of technology with a degree in Psychology.
Gene was a proud member and board member of the United Street Racers of Passaic. He was also a member of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). Gene was the owner and driver of the “Cold As Ice” race car, racing primarily at the Island Dragway in Great Meadows, New Jersey.
He was predeceased by his wife, Karen A. (nee Rogers) (Melito) Hill in 2003; his parents, Eugene H. Hill, Sr. and Rita (nee Carey) Hill; and his sister, Mona Somma.
Survivors include: his siblings, Mark Hill and his wife, Diane of Passaic, Timothy Hill and his wife, Debbie of Fairfield and Sheila Hill-Ramp and her husband Robert of Passaic; and eight nieces and nephews, Mark, Jr., Tiffany, Joseph, Tim, Jr., Kevin, Dana, Robert Eugene and Rita.
Graveside services will be held10:00 am Saturday, August 29, 2020 at St. Nicholas Cemetery, 2 Terrace Ave. at Passaic Street, Lodi. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susan G.
