Frank G. Lechleiter, 96, of Clifton, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024. Born and raised in Belleville, New Jersey, Mr. Lechleiter moved to Clifton in 1950 where he resided since. Before his retirement, he was employed as a Shop Teacher with the Paterson Board of Education at Eastside High School. Previous employment was with Singer-Kearfott Co. in the Aerospace Research and Development department working on equipment for the Apollo flights. He also owned Lech-Lite Products, a machine shop he operated with his father.
Mr. Lechleiter served honorably during World War II in the United States Army. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton where he was a member of the Prime Timers. He also enjoyed his friends at the Valley Seniors and was a member of the Regina Mundi Knights of Columbus, both in Clifton.
Mr. Lechleiter enjoyed playing chess, playing golf and he rode his bicycle until he was 92 years old. He also found time to fly his radio-controlled model airplanes. During the summers, he can be found down the shore at his summer residence in Sea Isle City, New Jersey.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mildred (nee Shimansky) in 1992 and his parents, Adolph F. and Mary E. (nee Gorham) Lechleiter.
Survivors include: his daughter, Tara Brunt and her husband, Thomas of Belleville; his son, Frank L. Lechleiter of Branchville, NJ and his granddaughter, Dana Marie Lechleiter.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Friday 11:45 am from the funeral home and 12:30 pm at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton.
