Frederick Joseph Wilson

Frederick Joseph Wilson, 75, of Clifton, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Born in Orange, New Jersey, Fred resided all of his life in Clifton.  He was a graduate of Clifton High School, joined the United States Navy and proudly served for four years during the Vietnam War Era. Before retirement, Frederick was employed with the City of Clifton in the Department of Public Works for many years.

Fred was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton.  He also was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Fred was also an avid Mets Fan.

He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Edward L. and Mary A. (nee Duffy) Wilson; his brother, Thomas Wilson, sister-in-law Katherine (nee Dawson) Wilson, one sister, Maureen Hopper and longtime companion Josephine Duva.

Survivors include: three sisters, Kathryn George, Judith DeSantis,  Mary Jo (Michael) McGrady, and brother-in-law Robert Hopper, many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are many close friends and members of the Duva and Belmont families.

Visitation will be held Friday November 15, 2024 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 9:30 am from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
