Frederick Wojcik, Jr. Obituary

Frederick A. Wojcik, Jr., known to family and friends as Freddy, passed away on July 30, 2026 at the age of 74.

Born on November 10, 1951, in Passaic, New Jersey, Freddy was a lifelong resident of Clifton and a man who remained deeply connected to the community in which he was raised. He was the beloved husband of Mariann (nee Streili) Wojcik and was known throughout his life as a friendly and steady presence to those who knew him. His warm manner and easygoing nature left a lasting impression on family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers alike.

Freddy was a 1971 graduate of Clifton High School, where he began building the friendships and interests that would remain important to him throughout his life. In his youth, he played baseball in the Clifton Babe Ruth League on the team sponsored by Kearfott Co., an experience that reflected both his love of the game and his enjoyment of being part of a team. He also played in the Clifton Sunday Morning Slo-pitch Softball League for the Royals, where he continued to enjoy the camaraderie and competition that sports brought into his life.

Before his retirement, Fred was employed in the Shipping and Receiving Department at Northside Imports in Hasbrouck Heights. He was known for his dependable work ethic and his commitment to doing his job well. Earlier in his career, he had worked for Missbrenner Prints in Clifton and Stefan Enterprises in Garfield. Through each position, he carried himself with quiet dedication and a practical spirit that earned the respect of those around him.

Freddy was also active in the life of his community and faith. He was a former parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Passaic and was a member of the Burgenlander Society of Passaic. He also belonged to the former Burgenlander Dance Group, performing at the United Nations, the Waldorf Astoria, the New York World’s Fair, the Massachusetts Folk Festival and many German and Austrian clubs and restaurants across the area.  These affiliations reflected his appreciation for heritage, friendship, and the bonds that connect people across generations.

He is survived by his wife, Mariann (nee Streili) Wojcik; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Theresa and Michael Holzli; his nieces, Ingrid Wojcik, Kathleen Holzli, Marie Criscuolo, and Dianne Zecchino and her husband, Mark; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, William Marton, Ingrid Wojcik, Karl Wojcik, and Robert Wojcik. Fred also leaves behind many who will remember him with affection and gratitude for the kindness and steadiness he brought into their lives.

Freddy will be remembered for his friendly nature, his devotion to family, and the simple, genuine way he lived his life. He found meaning in work, in community, in sports, and in the traditions that shaped him, and he carried those values with him always. His memory will remain a source of comfort to those who loved him and a lasting reminder of a life well lived.
