Frederick G. von Bargen

Frederick G. von Bargen, 88, of Clifton, passed away on March 22, 2020. Born in Hackensack, New Jersey, Mr. von Bargen was raised in Wood-Ridge and moved to Clifton following his marriage where he lived for the remainder of his life.  He worked in the family florist business and was also a self-employed fencing contractor.

            Mr. von Bargen was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Clifton.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served honorably as a radio operator in Germany after WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post in Carlstadt.

            He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joan (nee Crane) in 1971 and one son, Thomas von Bargen.

            He is survived by sons, Robert Von Bargen and his wife Suzanne of Point Pleasant, NJ and Daniel von Bargen and his wife Pam of Basking Ridge, NJ.  Also surviving are his sister, Marguerite von Bargen of Reno, NV; his brother, Edward von Bargen and his wife Debbie of Little Falls, NJ; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
