Gerardo A. Carpio

Gerardo (Pocho) Carpio, 72, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday January 2, 2022.

Born and raised in Lima, Peru, he worked as a shoe maker. Mr. Carpio came to the United States in 1983, settling in Paterson NJ. He was a man of many trades. During his early years in this country, he was employed as a chef. He subsequently developed an interest for upholstery and made a career in this field. He was an avid soccer fan and enjoyed dancing and generally just enjoyed having a good time, specially with his beloved family and friends. He was always known to have a smile on his face and loved to laugh.

Mr. Carpio was predeceased by his dearly missed father, Gerardo Carpio Bernero, his stepfather Cesar Medina and his dear brother Julio Cesar Gamarra.

He is survived by his three devoted children: Claudia Trejo and her husband, Fernando Trejo, of Union, Gerardo Carpio and his husband, Oscar Miranda, of New York, NY and Jaqueline Carpio Salas and her husband, Hector Masias Fernandez, of Peru; his cherished mother, Dora E. Pinto Castro vda de Medina, of Peru; six dear siblings: Edgardo Medina Pinto of Prospect Park, Hugo Medina Pinto of Peru, Carmen Doris Medina Pinto of Peru, Luis Medina Abrego of Peru, Cesar Andres Medina Abrego of Venezuela, and Alejandrina Medina Abrego of Venezuela; and three loved grandchildren: Daniela A. Tello, José F. Tello and Stefanie J. Masias Carpio.

Visiting will be Friday January 7, with a funeral service to take place during the visitation at 7:00pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton and a livestream of the visitation and services can be viewed at that time by CLICKING HERE beginning at 6:00pm. Gerardo Carpio Pinto de 72 años, mejor conocido como “Pocho” falleció el Domingo 2 de Enero del 2022 de una manera inesperada.
Nacido en Lima- Peru, se desempeñó como fabricante de zapatos durante su juventud en su natal Peru. En el año 1983 se estableció en Paterson NJ en los Estados Unidos, trabajando como asistente de cocina hasta llegar al puesto de cocinero, en el que se desempeñó por muchos años. Después de un tiempo se interesó en la tapicería llegando a ser un tapicero profesional, ya que el tenia un don para el diseño ya sea de zapatos o muebles. Pocho era un fanático del fútbol, del baile y de la vida en general, pero lo que más disfrutaba era compartir con su familia y amigos. El siempre tenía una sonrisa para todos y su famosa risa que lo caracterizaba.
Gerardo se une a su fallecido padre Gerardo Carpio Bernero, su padrastro Cesar Medina y su querido hermano Julio Cesar Gamarra Pinto.
Gerardo siempre será recordado por sus 3 hijos Claudia Trejo y esposo Fernando Trejo, de Union, Gerardo Carpio y su esposo, Oscar Miranda, de New York, NY y Jaqueline Carpio Salas y su esposo Hector Masias Fernandez, de Peru; su querida madre Dora E. Pinto Castro vda de Medina de Peru; seis hermanos: Edgardo Medina Pinto de Prospect Park, Hugo Medina Pinto de Peru, Carmen Doris Medina Pinto de Peru, Luis Medina Abrego de Peru, Cesar Andres Medina Abrego de Venezuela, y Alejandrina Medina Abrego of Venezuela; y sus tres queridos nietos: Daniela A. Tello, José F. Tello y Stefanie J. Masias Carpio.
