Gina (nee Barca) Marano, 87, of Clifton passed away peacefully in the care and comfort of having her daughter at her bedside on Sunday October 5th, 2025.
Born and raised in Vaccarizzo Albanese, Italy, Mrs. Marano lived there until marriage when she and her husband Rocco moved to Argentina where they lived for ten years. In 1969, Gina, Rocco and their two daughters came to the United States and settled in Clifton to be close to family. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Marano had been employed as a seamstress. However her true life’s purpose was that of being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family meant everything to her and she loved being surrounded by them, especially for her Italian family dinners. She also enjoyed shopping, particularly at Macy’s, and attended mass at St. Paul RC Church in Clifton.
Mrs. Marano was predeceased by her loved and missed husband, Rocco Marano, who passed away on June 10th, 2024; by a cherished daughter, Andrea Marano; a dear sister, Maria Vangieri and her husband, Gennaro; and by her parents Giuseppe and Mariangela (nee Rosa) Barca.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Ann Tomesko and her husband, Kenneth, of Clifton; six dear siblings: Salvatore Barca and his wife Maria, Mario Barca and his wife Lenora, Matilda Samarro, Maria Rosaria Buono, Laura Janus and Angelina Vizzini and her husband Salvatore; her three loved grandchildren: Ashley Beckman and her husband Kirk, Michael Tomesko and Vera Gina Christensen; and by her four cherished great-grandsons: Brennan, Dylan, Jameson and Jackie.
Visiting will be Monday October 13th from 4-8pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Tuesday October 14th beginning 9:15am from the funeral home and 10:00am at St. Paul RC Church, cor. Union Avenue & Second Street, Clifton. Entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Paterson.
