Giovanna (nee Serio) Gorga, 88, of Clifton passed away on August 12th, 2023.
Born in Palermo, Sicily, Italy, Mrs. Gorga came to the United States in 1948, settling in Paterson and living there before then moving to Clifton fifty-one years ago and residing there since. She was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose family meant everything to her. She was an avid cook, loved to travel and enjoyed time spent trying her luck visiting casinos.
Mrs. Gorga was predeceased by a loved and missed son, Anthony Gorga, who predeceased her on November 17, 2020 as well as by two dear sisters: Antoinette D’Agati and Rose Collesano.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Adamo Gorga, of Clifton; two loving children: Joann Sinisi and her husband, Steve, of Cedar Grove and Ralph Gorga and his wife, Mary, of Manchester; five cherished grandchildren: Jamie, Anthony, Ashley, Stephen and Jessica; and two adored great-grandchildren: Kailani and Aria.
Visiting will be Tuesday from 4-8pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral service Wednesday 11:00am at the funeral home. Private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
