Grace Polizzi, a beacon of kindness and faith, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, at the age of 93 in Clifton, NJ, surrounded by the love and memories of a community she greatly impacted. Born on September 25, 1931, in Passaic, NJ, Grace was a lifelong resident of the area, moving to Clifton in 1988, where she continued to cultivate a life marked by thoughtfulness and service.
Grace's early years in Passaic set the stage for a life rich in family and faith. She was the cherished sister of Rosalie Polizzi and was predeceased by her loving siblings Mary J. Polizzi, Ann Gamba, Frieda Polizzi, Anthony Polizzi, John Polizzi, Frank Polizzi, Joseph Polizzi, Carmen Polizzi, and Ignazio Polizzi, Jr. Grace was the treasured daughter of the late Ignazio Polizzi, Sr. and Josephine (nee Yuppa) Polizzi, whose values of compassion and community service were deeply instilled in her from a young age. Grace was the proud aunt of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Professionally, Grace dedicated many years as a customer service representative with The Eveready Battery division of Union Carbide. Her career began in Westwood, NJ, and she retired from the Saddle Brook location, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and a network of colleagues who admired her work ethic and warm personality.
Grace's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Passaic, where she also served as a trustee and was a member of St. Anthony's Sacred Heart Society. Her commitment to her church extended beyond the walls of the sanctuary, as she was an active member of the Mt. Carmel Leisure Club in Passaic, where she enjoyed fellowship and community engagement.
Those who knew Grace would describe her as faith-filled, kind, and thoughtful—a woman whose actions spoke louder than words. Her gentle demeanor and genuine concern for others made her a cherished friend and a pillar in her community. Grace's ability to listen and offer wise counsel will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Grace Polizzi's life was a testament to the power of living with purpose and love. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who were touched by her spirit, and her memory will be held in the hearts of many. As we bid farewell to Grace, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that has undoubtedly found its eternal rest in the loving embrace of her Creator.
