Heinrich Will

Heinrich “Heinz” Will, 91, of Wayne, New Jersey, passed away on May 15, 2026, surrounded by the legacy of a life marked by hard work, devotion, and many meaningful connections. Born on November 27, 1934, in Leverkusen, Germany, he lived a full and interesting life that took him from his native country to Canada and eventually to the United States, where he built a lasting home and a wide circle of friends and family.

Heinz first immigrated to Canada before coming to the United States in 1959. He initially settled in the Passaic-Clifton area before moving to the Towaco section of Montville in 1966. He made his home in Towaco for 58 years, becoming a familiar and respected presence in the community before moving to Wayne in 2024. Through the years, he was known as a handy man with a practical spirit, a steady hand, and a warm personality that left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

Before retirement, Heinz was employed as a cabinet maker with Summer Cabinet Co. in Carlstadt. He took pride in his work and was valued for his skill, reliability, and attention to detail. His craftsmanship reflected the same care and dedication that he brought to every part of his life. He was the kind of man who could fix what was broken, build what was needed, and offer help without hesitation.

Heinz was also deeply involved in his community and enjoyed the fellowship of many organizations. He was a long-time member of the Sportsfriends Soccer Club in Wayne and a member of the Montville Seniors. He also volunteered for 30 years with the Montville First Aid Squad, giving generously of his time and energy in service to others. His long commitment to volunteer work was a testament to his character and his willingness to help wherever he was needed.

Outside of work and service, Heinz enjoyed a rich and active personal life. He and his late wife, Margarete, née Dizig, traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Caribbean Islands, and they shared many memorable cruises together. These journeys brought them joy and created treasured memories that remained with him throughout his life. Heinz also earned a Black Belt in Judo, an accomplishment that reflected his discipline, perseverance, and strength of spirit.

Heinz was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margarete, and by three brothers. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and in-laws, who will remember him with affection and gratitude. His family and friends will long cherish the many stories, lessons, and moments of kindness that he shared over the years.

Heinz will be remembered as an interesting and handy man whose life was defined by hard work, loyalty, service, and a genuine appreciation for the world around him. His journey from Germany to Canada and then to the United States was one of courage and determination, and the life he built was one of purpose and quiet accomplishment. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication to family, community, and the many people whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 17, 2026 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton.  Funeral services will be held Monday, May 18, 2026 at 9:15 from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Saddle Brook. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
