Irene (Tkacz) Masley, R.N.

Irene Masley, R.N., passed away on October 6, 2023 in NYC.   Irene, born in Hamtramack, Mich., was the daughter of Ukrainian immigrants, Michael Tkacz of Halychyna and Esther Dzjaka of Lviv, who made their home in Passaic N.J. where they operated the Clifton Bakery.  Irene was predeceased by her siblings Michael, Maimie, Harry, and William Tkacz.  Irene’s spouse of 58 years William Masley predeceased her in 2012.  They raised three daughters in Clifton N.J.: Dr. Barbara Masley (Prof. Helena Ragone) of Pelham, Mass., Nancy Masley of Las Vegas, Nev., and Justice Andrea Masley (Prof. Samuel D. Albert) of N.Y.C.  Nurse Masley was a 1952 graduate of Paterson General Hospital School of Nursing after which she worked at Barnert Hospital, Paterson NJ.  She is survived by her daughters.  During her long illness, Irene was lovingly cared for by Edith Kagambega, and many beloved caregivers to whom her family is eternally grateful.

Visitation will be held Saturday morning, October 14, 2023 from 10:00 to 10:30 am at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton followed by the funeral service at 10:30 am.
