James D. St. Clair, 74, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, was called to Heaven on October 13, 2021. Born on March 23,1947 in Bridgeport, CT to Burt and Alexina (nee Johnston) St. Clair. Jim grew up in Lordship, CT with his sister Margaret.
Jim married the love of his life, Ruth Ellen, in 1971. They planted their roots in Clifton, NJ where they raised their three children, Michele, Tim and Andy. He was a very proud husband and father who loved nothing more than his family.
Jim graduated from Fairfield University with a bachelor’s in Chemistry. He later received a master’s degree in Education. He dedicated his life to the students of Clifton as a Science teacher at Clifton High School for thirty-five years. He also served on the Clifton Board of Education.
A kind, loving and generous man, Jim loved traveling with family and friends, building car and wooden ship models, watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and sharing stories with his best friend Bill. As a teacher, Cub Scout leader and Little League coach he impacted so many in his family and community.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Burt and Alexina. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ellen, his daughter, Michele St. Clair Russo and her husband, Scott Russo; his sons Timothy St. Clair and his wife, Hope St. Clair, Andrew St. Clair and his wife Lisa St. Clair; two grandchildren, Ryan and Julia St. Clair; his sister, Margaret Del Greco; and his puppy, Phoenix.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton, NJ. Funeral service Monday 10:30 am at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Madonna Cemetery, Ft. Lee.
