JoAnn (nee Cornelli) Donohue, 77, of Clifton, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024. Born and raised in Hoboken, her family was friends with the Donohue family also from Hoboken. JoAnn and James Donohue fell in love, got married and moved to Clifton in the mid-seventies where she has resided since. JoAnn graduated from Jersey City State College and went on to become a Kindergarten Teacher for the Jersey City Board of Education. When her children were born, she left to raise them and be a stay-at-home mom until they were in school and she returned to teaching so that she could have summers off with her children. She would take to them to many Pennsylvania attractions. As a young girl her family had a home in Pennsylvania where she enjoyed spending time and she wanted to share that with her own children. She also enjoyed vacationing at Myrtle Beach, SC. Before her retirement she was a substitute teacher for the Clifton Board of Education. JoAnn was a faithful parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle Church, Clifton
She was predeceased by her husband, James Donohue (2018); her parents, Joseph and Helen (nee Phelan) Cornelli; and her sister, Arlene Manzi.
JoAnn is survived by her children, Brian Donohue and his wife, Kristen and Jennifer Fantry and her husband, John; and her four grandchildren, Emily, Sean and Madison Fantry and Cooper Donohue.
