Joan T. (nee Godleski) Sadlock, 87, of Clifton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 4, 2025. Born on October 26, 1937, in Bloomfield, New Jersey, Joan's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family. Joan spent her formative years in Belleville, NJ, and later settled in Clifton, NJ, where she and her beloved husband, George E. Sadlock, Jr. built a life together for sixty-five years.
Joan's education, though rooted in her high school years, was far surpassed by the wisdom she gained through her life experiences. She spent a brief period working before dedicating herself to the full-time care of her family. Her role as a homemaker was one she performed with exceptional love and dedication and was one she cherished deeply, providing a warm and nurturing environment for her children, James, Richard, and his wife, Ellen, and daughter Joanne and her husband, Michael. Joan's love extended to her adored grandchildren, Sarah, Joshua, Tessa, Samantha, Caroline, and Evan, and she was blessed to witness the birth of her great-granddaughter, Margot; and brothers, Frank and Charles Godleski.
She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Theresa (nee Ostrowski) Godleski.
A woman of many interests, Joan had a particular fondness for reading, which allowed her to explore worlds beyond her own. She also found immense joy in babysitting her grandchildren, each moment spent with them a cherished memory. Her gentle presence and unwavering support were her gifts to her family, and the echoes of her loving guidance will resonate for generations to come.
