Johanna (nee Pizzi) Salerno, 84, of Kinnelon, formerly of Nutley and Passaic, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Born in Passaic, Mrs. Salerno was raised in Belleville and moved to Passaic in 1978. She had owned Joann’s Luncheonette on Main Avenue in Passaic before starting a 25-year career with the Passaic Board of Education retiring as a Food Service Manager.
She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Salerno in 1992; her son-in-law, Angelo Parlegreco in 2020; and two brothers, John and Frank Pizzi.
Survivors include: three daughters, Joell Morgan and her husband, Robert; Kim Parlegreco and Natalie Casale; seven grandchildren, Bryan Morgan, Marc Morgan, Eric Bruce, Jr., Tara Bruce, Brittany Casciano, Joseph Parlegreco and Daniel Bruce; and six great-grandchildren, Olivia Morgan, Hailey Morgan, Sawyer Morgan, Owen Morgan, Vincenzo Casciano and Luciano Parlegreco.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday 11:00 am in Section 11 of East Ridgelawn Cemetery, 255 Main Ave, Clifton. Please meet at the cemetery. Facemasks must be worn and social distancing applies.
