John T. “Jack” Cannon, 93, of Clifton, passed away April 15, 2022. Born in Hudson, New York, Jack (as he was known to family and friends) spent his early childhood years in Hudson before moving to Queens, New York for many years. Jack relocated to Clifton in the 1960’s where he has resided since. Before retirement, Jack was employed as a pressman with Tri-Arts Press of New York City for 45 years. He then enjoyed working at the Boys and Girls Club of Clifton as a cook in their cafeteria. Jack was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton and served two years in the United States Army before being honorably discharged.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret (nee Fitzgerald) in 1981; one granddaughter, Holly Grace Cannon in 2015; and his parents, John H. and Veronica (nee Dugan) Cannon.
Survivors include: his beloved wife, Rose Marie (nee Tillie); three children, John E. Cannon and his wife, Barbara, Margaret Puchkoff and Jean-Marie Cannon; one stepson, Gerald Campoli; four grandchildren, Melissa Stern and her husband, Jason, Rachel Puchkoff and her partner Emily Iason, Jayna Puchkoff and Thomas Cannon; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Sasha Stern; two step-grandchildren, Danielle Campoli and fiancé Ryan Podlesny and Eric Gephart and partner Daniella Bossi; and two step-greatgrandchildren, Leonello and Donatello Gephart.
Visitation will be held Tuesday April 19, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:00 am at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Please meet directly at church. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Clifton, 822 Clifton Avenue, Clifton, NJ 07013.
