John L. Chlada, 86, of Woodland Park passed away on November 15, 2021.
Born in New York, NY, Mr. Chlada was raised in Jersey City, graduated from Weehawken High School and went on to earn his Bachelors degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford. He then went on to having a long career in the insurance industry as an Insurance Agent and Underwriting Manager, in the early years with John Hancock, Mutual of New York and Acacia Insurance and then spent the majority of his career with Guardian Life Insurance in Paramus. He was proud to have earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation and was a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Mr. Chlada had served in the US Army Reserves and was a faithful parishioner for many years of St. Philip the Apostle RC Church in Clifton. He was a New Jersey Devils season ticket holder for over twenty years and also a fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants and enjoyed spending time in Atlantic City and at the Jersey shore, especially at the family’s summer home in Ocean Beach.
Mr. Chlada was predeceased by his loved and missed parents: Herman and Charlotte (nee Muller) Chlada and dear brother Herman H. Chlada.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (nee Lloyd) Chlada, of Woodland Park; his devoted son, John L. Chlada, of Paterson and by many cousins and extended family.
Visiting will be Thursday from 3-7pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Friday 10:45 am from the funeral home and 11:30am at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Paterson.
