John H. Collins

John H. Collins, 79, of Clifton, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Born in Newark, John was raised in Middletown, NJ for many years. He then resided in Clifton, Vernon for 15 years before moving back to Clifton 17 years ago. Before retirement, John was employed as a Store Manager with Pathmark in their North Jersey locations. He also served as the Safety Manager of A&P  Supermarkets in North Jersey.

          John had a vast collection of Rock and Roll albums.  He usually played a record and listened to the music while enjoying dinner. John was also a people pleaser which played right into his role as store manager.

          John was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Ellen Collins; his mother-in-law, Maria Vangieri; and five siblings, Patrick Collins, Mary Joan Foley, Michael Collins, Lois Osnato and William Collins.

          Survivors include: his beloved wife of 43 years, Franca (nee Vangieri) Collins; his devoted son, Gerald Collins (Erica Zimmerman) of Clifton; two grandchildren, Georgia and Jaxon Collins; one sister, Janet Collins; and many nieces and nephews.

          Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:15 am from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass at St. Paul R.C.
